The Day of Qarr

Today is the Day of Qarr (From Qarr which means settled), and the Day of Qarr is one of the greatest days in the sight of Allah. It is confirmed by the Prophet (pbuh) that he said: “The greatest days in the sight of Allah are the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr) and then the Day of Qarr.”

The Day of Qarr is the second day of Eid, named as such because people settle (قرّ) in Mina after completing the Tawaf al-Ifadah, offering sacrifice, and taking rest. These days are significant and mentioned in the Quran: “And remember Allah during [specific] numbered days.” Therefore, the Day of Qarr and the following two days are preferred for supplication, so do not miss out on them.

It is not permissible to fast during these days due to the Prophet’s statement: “The days of Mina are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah.”

🟢 What should we do during these days?
First: Seek forgiveness and make Dua’a.
Second: Engage in constant Takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar), both the unrestricted and following the obligatory prayers.
Third: Increase in sending blessings upon the Prophet (pbuh), saying: “Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

Whoever misses the Day of Arafah should not miss the virtue of the Day of Qarr! May Allah grant us and you what we love and desire.
