The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Saum (fasts) must be made up] from other days.(185). [Quran 2: 183-185]

Zakatulfitr:

Zakatulfitr is to be paid nowadays. It is $10.00 per person. For example, if you are married with two (2) children, then you pay 4 x $10.00 = $40.00.
If your wife is pregnant, then you have to pay for the fetus, too. So in the previous example, if you are married with two children and your wife is pregnant, then your Zakat is: 5 x $10.00 = $50.00.
Of course the more the better.

Please notice: Zakat should be spent on 8 specified categories. Please ask (and preferably, read) before you pay your Zakat.

The ISS collect Zakat money and spend it on any of the 8 specified categories.

If you pay your Zakat with your card, please add a dollar for convenience fees. Usually, the ISS pays this fee. But since Zakat for this year is $10.00, any convenience fee deducted from the $10.00 will result in your Zakat payment is not complete.

Jazakumu Allahu Khairan and Eid Mubarak.

New Khatieb

Ali Qassaiymah, 17, was our khatieb for this Jumuah prayer. We are so proud of him, ma shaa Allah. The youngest of our list of Khatieb (speakers) and we hope to see more like him in shaa Allah.

Thank You to Those Behind Our Beautiful Dinner Arrangements

Certainly, there are unsung heroes behind the excellent work that organizes our dinner distributions every day. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Suleiman Madalla, Naziful Lah, and Ahmad Baha’a. Above all, I wish to extend special thanks to, who else other than Dr. Ahmed Abo Basha? Oh! And, of course, myself 🙂

Thank you all for your dedication and hard work. May Allah, the All-Knowing and All-Hearing, reward you abundantly.

Today’s (03/28/2024) Activity:

I was genuinely delighted today to watch Mr. Ali Qasaiymah delivering the speech “Khairah” during the Tarawih prayers.

Ali has been a part of As’siddiq Mosque and the ISS community for quite some time. His consistent and commendable contributions have enriched the activities and spiritual environment of the mosque. On numerous occasions, Ali approached me with thoughtful inquiries about faith and Islam, sparking meaningful discussions that benefitted not only him but also others in our community.

Dr. Ahmed Abo Basha, along with a few other dedicated members, has been instrumental in mentoring and educating Ali, nurturing him as a promising second-generation member. This preparation aims to equip him with the knowledge and skills necessary for assuming greater responsibilities in the future, In sha Allah.

Keep up the excellent work, Ali. I eagerly look forward to witnessing more of your contributions and growth. May Allah, the Almighty, safeguard you, grant you good health, and shield you from the envious gaze of others
